Despite wet conditions several athletes from WSPH travelled to Canford School, Canford Magna for the 1st Wessex league event of the season, where Weymouth competes in a combined team with Dorchester AC
First home in a huge under 11 field was Emily Fraher in 23rd place in the girls race, Jodie Clarke came 29th, Courtney McGregor-Smart came 31st. Kyle O’Rouke, running in his 1st cross country race was 24th in the the boys race.
Hannah Westhenry was the only WSPH athlete in the under 13 girls race where she came a creditable 16th in a large field. This follows on from her 4th place female in the in the 4 mile road race at the Weymouth 10 the previous week.
Jamie King was the only WSPH in the in the under 13 Boys where he was one of the younger competitors and worked his way up through the field to come 9th.
Pete Clarke came 26th in the seniors race but 1st over 65.
All in all a promising start to the season.
