The
M12k follows beautiful small lanes around a number of villages. It is mil
dly undulating but with a couple of water stops on route there is time to
take a breather. There is dedicated parking\, post run snack for all runne
rs and a great village pub for your cheeky Sunday pint.
\n
The 12k is
organised under the Association of Running Club rules and has a certifica
te of course accuracy. It’s a headphone free race\, is limited to 200 ent
ries and for runners over the age of 17.
\n

A popular 10 mile road race around the lanes of Lytchett Matrav
ers and Lytchett Minster.
\nThe club’s annual Lytchett 10 t
akes place every February\, starting and finishing at Lytchett Minster Sch
ool\, Post Green Road\, Lytchett Minster\, Poole\, Dorset\, BH16 6JD.
\nThis popular and undulating 10 mile road race takes runners around th
e lanes of Lytchett Matravers and Lytchett Minster.
\nThe course is
fully marshalled and signed throughout\, with water stations en route and
at finish. Showers\, toilets and changing facilities are available at the
school.
\nThere are free cakes and race mementos for all participant
s\, with prizes for first 3 male and female finishers\, and spot prizes to
be awarded randomly.
\nThe 2025 event will take place on Sunday Feb
ruary 9th at 9am.

The May 5 is a great\, local\, 5 mile race around Canford Hea
th\, Poole\, Dorset. It offers something for everyone and with a start and
finish at Ashdown Athletics Track\, it’s the perfect place to cheer your
runners in! Compete for fun\, or test yourself against fellow club members
or even other clubs.
\n
Race start time: 9.00 am
\n
NOTE: Entrants must be 15 or over on race day. No dogs\, bug
gies or headphones will be permitted during the race.
\n
\n
The race is organis
ed by a willing band of volunteers. This includes staff\, parents and frie
nds of the school.
\n
\nWe enjoy organising the race and welc
ome all runners\, who have always been friendly ‘clients’ in the race. Any
funds made in the 2025 race will go towards funding items for the childre
n of the school. Course details\, along with entry details are available o
n this website.
\n
\nThe proceeds from 2013 – 2015 have enabl
ed us to partially refurbish the school library. We have purchased sofas\,
enhanced the range of non-fiction books on offer and the library has been
re-painted to make it a more welcoming area. In 2016 the monies raised fo
r the school went towards rejuvenating the school swimming pool.
\n
\nThe race brings the community of runners to the school\, raises m
oney and promotes sport.

\nThe running family is full of s
ome great people and we would like to extend a very warm welcome to as man
y of you as possible in 2025.

In 1980 three bored sailors stationed at the Royal Naval Air Station came
up with the idea of a 10 mile race on Portland\, the cost was 40 pence to
enter!
\n
Today the race has developed into a testing 10 mile route t
hat will see you run a lap and a half around the top of the island\, from
one end of the island\, Portland Heights Hotel (385 ft)\, to the other\, P
ortland Bill (30 ft)
\n
The route is undulating\, on tarmac roads and
pavements and goes through built up areas as well as following long stret
ches of coastal road.
