The Route
\nThe route is un
dulating\, predominately on tarmac roads and pavements\, and takes you aro
und the top of the Isle of Portland in a figure of eight\, with a short lo

The race start and finish is at the Blues Club Grove Road\ , Portland. This is the home ground of Portland United Football Club and p arking\, as well as toilet and changing facilities\, are available. To get there by road head for Weymouth then follow the signs for Portland on the A354. Follow the main road to the top of Portland to the Heights Hotel ro undabout. Go straight across the roundabout to Easton. \nThe Stur Half\, organised b y the Dorset Doddlers is a road race and has been running since 1990. The route follows rural roads in and around Sturminster Newton.
\nThe race is sponsored by Honeybuns Bakery and supported by other local busines ses\, and this year is part of the Dorset Road Race League.
\nThere is also a multi-terrain 5k race\, which you can enter on the day\, and whi le you are running we will entertain the children with races on the school field.
\nWhether you are a returning runner or new to the Stur Half \, we look forward to welcoming you on Sunday 4th August 2024.
