WSPH 2026 London Marathon Runners
Amongst the 58,250 runners, running from Greenwich to The Mall in the 2026 London Marathon, were two WSPH competitors. Weymouth runner, Aidan Turner who won this years ballot for the Weymouth St Pauls Harriers club place and John Stroulger also running for the club.




WSPH achieved outstanding results, with Aidan Turner crossing the line in 3:09:19 and John Stroulger in 4:24:37
For Aidan, this was his first marathon attempt. He has been a member of the club since junior school and was coached by the WSPH President Pete Clarke, who gave him valuable encouragement and tips for the event. Pete coaches running and cross country for the club and regularly takes beach sessions on Weymouth sands.
It was a glorious sunny day which witnessed Sabastian Sawe a 31 year old Kenyan runner, break the world record and become the first to run in under 2 hours at 1:59:30 in a competitive race. Yomif Kejelcha from Ethiopia also finished under 2 hours in 1:59:41. The women’s world record was beaten by Tigst Assefa in 2:15:41
The Weymouth Running club and Weymouth Athletics club have a strong group of running and athletics coaches, for all ages and abilities. You can begin your running by joining an upcoming Weymouth coach to 5K group training session or join any of the Weymouth regular run sessions.
If you are a young athlete, wanting to learn or improve in athletic events, you can join the club Weymouth Athletics club and train with the WSPH athletic coaches.
